Core concepts
A few terms show up everywhere in RegionCheck. Here's what each one means.
Probe
A probe is a single configured check — for example a DNS lookup, an HTTP request, a TCP connection test, or a TLS certificate inspection.
Run
A run is one execution of a probe from one or more regions.
Region
A region is a cloud provider region where a RegionCheck worker executes the probe. See Regions & providers for the full list.
Result
A result is the structured output of a run from a specific region. See Understanding results for a field-by-field breakdown.
Scheduled check
A scheduled check is a saved probe that runs on a schedule, so you get ongoing monitoring instead of a one-off result. See Saved & scheduled checks.
Incident
An incident is a detected failure or degradation from a scheduled check. See Incidents & alerting for how incidents are detected and how alerts are sent.
Workspace
A workspace is your container for saved checks, scheduled checks, API keys, and billing.
